The magic behind the movies. My childhood love for film has evolved into a passion for script writing and reading. To date I have written 1 feature film script, 2 TV sitcom pilots, 1 TV drama pilot, and more than 10 original short films. I have also assembled an ever growing library of professionally produced scripts. This library has served to entertain and educate me. While not currently working on any long projects I have turned to my Snapshots (which you can see below). This diacritical exercise keeps me writing without the pressure of a lengthy script.
As you may notice from my multiple titles, I do not want to be just one thing. That is no different with my writing. I keep several running journals that, before long, will be book length. These include a travel blog where I record my thoughts and experiences as a 20-something traveler. A memory journal in which each entry begins with the line "I remember". Much like my Snapshots, these journals are autobiographical. I also enjoy fiction writing as you can see with my screenplays and I look forward to expanding into that space with my pros writing.
What began as preparation for my first ever "tight five" has become a running list of gags, bits, and butts. There is an art to writing a joke, and while new to it I find it great fun. While I've only performed stand up once, I look forward to getting back up there.
My poems are usually haikus. I appreciate the short style as it forces me to choose each word with intention. Whether they be silly, sad, or sexual the poems always seem to put a smile on my face. If you check out my tight five, maybe they'll put a smile on yours!

Genre: Drama

Written while studying abroad in Sydney, AUS, this script dives into a new concept of what happens when we die. I wrote this script with the aim of evoking tears from readers. Spoiler alert, I was largely successful.

Inspired by the humor of I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson; this script follows two brothers who learn the hard way how hot the wings are at this restaurant.
I wrote this script because I wanted a good laugh. It is based on a true story in which my brother and I were humbled by the hotness of some chicken wings.
Genre: Sci FI
This scripts follows the sand collector as they brave their work environment in pursuit of a promotion.
I wrote this script following Above the Clouds, a competition short script in which I create my own Sci Fi world. I plan on creating an entire cinematic world out of what began as a competition prompt.
Two competitions that challenge writers to create original scripts with creative prompts as well as time and length restraints. After being assigned genre, location, subject, character, and/or an object, writers have anywhere from 1 to 12 days to write a script.
I have enjoyed these competitions and the scripts they prompt me to write. Since beginning I have noticed a steady growth in my abilities and that is confirmed by the judges' feedback. I continue to compete in this competition because it is great practice and forces me to write genres I otherwise wouldn't consider.
I have performed well despite not yet making it to the final round. In my most recent competition I was in the top 3 writers of my group and advanced past the first cut of contestants from 1,500 to 175. That said as I move forward with this style of writing competition, it is not with the motivation of winning, but walking away in the end with new original material.
